Torrents of the Spellhoarder and Crown of the Oathbreaker

Surveys and late pledges have begun!

Dear Cortexkin!

We have sent out the backer survey through Backerkit, so keep your eyes peeled for the email with the survey link! You will need to finalize your pledge there to receive your rewards, both digital and physical. In case you missed the campaign, you can visit our Pre-order store, which has also been activated.

The survey will be open until January 31, 2023. 

Until it is open, you can still update your pledge level at the start of the survey, by clicking the "or Switch your Pledge Level »" link under the big green "Get Started!" button. You can switch your digital reward tier to physical ones, upgrade from the standard books to the deluxe ones, or even go for an All-in Hero Box Series if you wish to become an NPC in Torrents of the Spellhoarder. 

After confirming your reward tier, some of you will need to answer some survey questions - choosing your VTT platform if your reward includes one, or specifying your NPC if you went for the Hero tier. 

Next, you can choose any of the add-ons we have available. These include all add-ons that were featured on the Kickstarter, as well as additional ones that were unlocked or added later (like the NPC Crowd Deck or the Elderbrain Enamel Pin). 

Lastly, you will need to add your shipping details and pay shipping fees and taxes if applicable. 

The survey and your order will be locked and charged on January 31st.

Preparing the next steps

Greetings Great Intellects of the Hive Mind! 

We are busy setting up the survey and the late pledge store on BackerKit, and we hope to launch it next week. We are waiting for the final review before it goes live. You will be able to provide your shipping details, upgrade your pledge level if you are craving more of the limited goodies, or add more of the sweet limited-time add-ons that would enhance your gameplay experience in the future.

For example,  since we passed the $175,000 stretch goal, we have added a free 300-card NPC Crowd Deck to the All-In Deluxe and Hero Box Series. That's a big box of NPCs to use in any campaign! 

Meanwhile, we are working on the editing for the second edition of Crown of the Oathbreaker. This affects all the PDFs in the COTO bundle. These will be updated on the download section of our site and made available to all new backers on Backerkit when the pledges are locked and charged. 

Our design team has been churning out illustrations for Torrents of the Spellhoarder. Here are some Eldritch Manifestations that arise when someone dies from an overdose of magical energies connected to an Orb of Magic. 

To amplify the brainwaves even further, and because we could not resist not creating it, we are preparing to launch a separate campaign for the Mage Wars card game, which has been redubbed Spell Wars. We grew to love this easy-to-play yet complex party game and had so much fun playtesting it that we are dedicated to bringing it to life.  We will keep you posted through a sign-up announcement in the near future.

Incredible finish: $175k Stretch Goal Unlocked - the NPC Crowd Deck!

Thanks to your amazing last-minute support and contributions, the campaign has reached it's next (and last) stretch goal milestone, and we have unlocked the NPC Crowd Deck. What does it mean to each tier, and what’s next?

The NPC Crowd Deck will also be available as an add-on for the next two hours and through the Backerkit Pledge Manager in a few weeks.

We are eternally grateful to all you generous backers and our entire team who made Torrents of the Spellhoarder such an incredible success! Thank you all so much for your support and enthusiasm!

We will send out the backer survey to you in the coming weeks, asking you to specify all the info we need to fulfill your rewards, including shipping details, VTT selections, and NPC portrait specifications. You will have a chance to finalize your order, pay shipping fees, and pick all the add-ons listed on the Kickstarter page, including the NPC Crown Deck that was unlocked at the very last moment. You can choose these add-ons even if you pledged a digital-only tier on Kickstarter.

You will also receive your Discord role and invite you to the private backer-only Discord channels where we might discuss the progress of the adventure together.

24 hours to go! New upgrade to Boxes - Elderbrain Enamel Pin

Hello, Elder Cortices!

To celebrate how far we have come, we have a new addition to the Deluxe Boxes - the Elderbrain Enamel Pin. Each box (Deluxe Box tiers and Accessory Box add-ons) will contain a beautiful 3D enamel pin that shows your devotion to the Hive Mind. The pin is also available as an add-on.  Wear it proudly to show your allegiance!

The Kickstarter-exclusive boxes contain every accessory for the adventures, so we thought of making a post detailing their exact contents with all unlocked stretch goal goodies. We designed them to be treasure hoards that would make a dragon sleep with one eye open, so why not dig into their contents?

There are three tiers that contain boxes:

• Torrents Deluxe Box ($229)
•  All-In Deluxe Box Series ($449) - both boxes
•  All-In Hero Box Series ($549) - both boxes

First, let’s see what is inside the Torrents of the Spellhoarder Box:

• Torrents of the Spellhoarder Booster Card Deck: Hand out the item, spell, feat, fraction, and NPC cards to your players. Running sessions and organizing player options has never been easier! And we have also unlocked six foil cards for the decks to make them even more impressive.
• Dice Set + Bag: Showing up to the session with these will please the gods of the ocean and bring the luck of the winds.
• DM Screen: With thematic art on the front and useful tables on the back, this DM screen will be in high demand. At any moment, the DM can look up the weather and naval combat rules, or how the mystical Orbs of Magic work.
• Sandbox Poster Map: The huge physical copy of the Calhay Sea, ripe with potential for sea exploration.
• Cover Poster and 3 Art Prints: Decorate your walls with epic art from Torrents, like the deep-sea dragon, Morgawr the kraken necromancer, and the Fangs of Xantharos scene. We plan to make the final choices based on backer votes when all designs are final. 
• Magnetic Bookmark: The book will have 3 built-in bookmarks, but why not strengthen your game with another one?
• Sticker Sheet: Kick-ass retro stickers inspired by Torrents on an A4 sticker sheet. You can leave your mark anywhere with these beauties.
• Printed Character Sheets: Four sets of printed, colorful character sheets designed for the seabound voyages in Torrents. 
• Encounter Map Posters: Three poster maps for generic encounters for the adventure: Underwater Shipwreck, Sandy Beach, Tropical Jungle
• Location Map Posters: Three poster maps of important settlements in the Calhay Sea: Rockhorn Village (minotaurs), Floating Village, Xantarosian Conclave
• Elderbrain Enamel Pin: Exclusive to the members of the Hive Mind, the Elderbrain Pin is a true mark of your devotion to the Elderbrain.

The Crown of the Oathbreaker Box is included in the All-in Box tiers and features: 

• Crown of Oathbreaker Booster cards: This deck of item and monster cards with art on the front and stats on the back can help players keep track of volumes of stuff from this 900-page book, like spells, feats, items, factions, and notable NPC that might accompany the party. Now with six foil cards!
• Dice Set + Bag: These dice are cursed - in a good way. If you are as addicted to collecting dice as we are, you will be thrilled to receive them.
• DM Screen: The long-awaited DM screen is here, with a full-art front and helpful tables on the back. The tables allow the DM to look up details about the midnight curse or mass combat rules without even opening the book during play.
• Sandbox Poster Maps: The huge physical poster maps of Aglarion, Onadbyr, and the Bleak Mire are great for some good old-fashioned hex crawling and city adventures.
• Cover Poster and 3 Art Prints: Decorate your dungeon with even more epic art. The intimidating portrait of Krasnar and the three beautiful art pieces from COTO are an impressive sight to behold -we just hope you have enough walls to hang them on!

If you would like to upgrade your tier to the Boxes or just grab some of their contents as add-ons, click on the “Manage your pledge” button on the project page. Select “Change your pledge” on the following page and choose any of the Deluxe Box or Accessory Box rewards or add-ons. If you have a digital-only pledge, you can upgrade to a physical one and select your physical add-ons like dice sets, DM screens, or posters. You can also switch to the Stickers and Add-ons reward tier to add any digital and physical reward.
